The harbor peninsula is the major industrial portion of the GL&W railroad. The east side consists of intermodal transfer between container ships and rail and truck service. Adjacent to the intermodal facility is the oil refinery. It is fully equipped for large scale production of petroleum products, their storage and their shipping. The Harbor East yard and diesel servicing facility handle the heavy traffic from these two large industries as well as a multitude of other freight traffic. On the map at left the intermodal is upper right center and the refinery is middle and lower center.
