NARROW GAUGE

Located adjacent to the standard gauge railroad on the western part of the layout the narrow gauge line interfaces with it in the yards at Antonito (Hannibal on the standard gauge layout). It represents the Denver & Rio Grande narrow gauge railroad, in the south western Colorado mountains, in the 1940s.The narrow gauge main line runs from La Jara through Antonito westward to Rico then Red Rock. There are a number of branches off the main line that go to various industries as well as a more recent sub-division that runs from Big Horn, about midway on the mainline, to Montrose. The narrow gauge line is run with Digitrax DCC as is the standard gauge layout. Operations on the narrow gauge are authentic Timetable and Train orders and are held, usually on a Sunday, approximately every three months.
