Standard Gauge 2-2-11

#1. Other than some minor upgrades and regular maintenance our standard gauge our mainline track work and our conversion to Digitrax DCC is complete. We also have installed computer control with detection using RR & Co. software. Our big project now is the installation of a signaling system that will be either CTC or ABS depending on the era of our operating session. Signals are install in the Baldwin area of the layout and have been tested for function and logic. We are now ready to proceed signaling to the rest of the layout. Another project is to install a wye track in Alamosa staging. This will greatly help in our steam/diesel transition era operations as we will be able to turn steam helpers and passenger trains. It will also help to relieve congestion in our busiest staging yard. For a look at a couple signal installations at Baldwin click Here

Narrow Gauge 2-2-11

#2.  After some down time a new crew has taken over work on the narrow gauge section of the layout. The work at Rock Springs is virtually complete and at Alturas, which use to be Kramer, the track is all in and landscaping is well under way..  For a look at the Rock Springs project, click → Here
